Navratras: A Powerful Ritual
A devotional poem marking the nine-day festival, submitted by Col. Parmjit.
Navratras, a nine days' celebration,
A unique Hindu celebration.
Devotees perform puja
To worship the Goddess Durga.
The divine feminine energy
Symbolises the triumph of good over evil,
To bring immense happiness and remove upheavals.
Devotees recite dedicated mantras, and keep fast to please the goddess —
This is the devotees' uniqueness,
Which provides them mammoth happiness.
Devotees feel so happy, as if they are on top of the world,
And life for them is top class.
The devotion and puja give them immense pleasure and happiness,
To achieve spiritual growth and do self-introspection.
They know no wrong to do.
At the end they demand peace for all, worldwide —
Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,
A win of good over evil, for all.
Heartiest and well-meaning congratulations to all.
We wish Subh Navratras to all,
Wish good luck and well-being to all — Mata Rani bless you all.
During Navratras, one finds oneself on cloud nine,
That's pretty good and fine —
Happiness abound, one finds.
