In a spectacular display of talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship, Baba Jitto Cricket Club emerged victorious in the Cricket Tournament organized by District Police Reasi under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Katra. The thrilling finale saw Baba Jitto Cricket Club outshine Katra Cricket Club to lift the championship trophy amid cheers and excitement from the crowd.

The tournament, organized with the vision of engaging youth in positive and healthy pursuits and promoting a drug-free society, witnessed spirited participation from eight local teams across Tehsil Katra. The event underscored the Jammu & Kashmir Police’s ongoing efforts to strengthen police-public relations and channel the potential of young individuals into constructive avenues.

The grand finale, hosted at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sports Stadium, Katra, turned into a gripping contest of skill and endurance. Baba Jitto Cricket Club, maintaining their winning momentum, delivered a stellar performance—showcasing explosive batting, disciplined bowling, and agile fielding—to claim a well-deserved triumph over a competitive Katra Cricket Club side.

The closing ceremony was attended by SSP Reasi, Sh. Paramvir Singh, JKPS, alongwith Addl. SP Katra Sh. Vipan Chandran-JKPS, SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey-JKPS and SHO P/S Katra Inspr. Khyatimaan Khajuria and distinguished citizens. SSP Reasi felicitated the champions and runners-up with trophies and cash prizes, while lauding the dedication and sportsmanship displayed by all participating teams.

In his address, SSP Reasi Sh. Paramvir Singh-JKPS commended the enthusiasm of the youth and emphasized the importance of sports in building character and resilience. He remarked, “This tournament reflects the spirit and energy of our youth. The Civic Action Programme is not just about sports — it’s about building bridges of trust between police and the community. District Police Reasi remains committed to nurturing talent and promoting a culture of positivity and discipline among the youth.”

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, as players, spectators and community members applauded the J&K Police’s efforts in organizing such impactful initiatives that inspire the youth towards healthy living and constructive engagement.
